More ceramic work at Bigland Green Primary School

This water fountain is set within a small and attractive landscaped garden situated at the entrance to Bigland Green Primary School, East London. The fountain and landscaping is appropriate in scale for children to enjoy, with careful attention given to the dimensions and proportions of the work.

The flower designs on the ceramic pebbles were painted with glaze stains during workshops with pupils aged 6 and 7. Children's designs were also included within the base, which we built from reclaimed London bricks.

This piece is constructed to be tough and durable for a site that might be prey to vandalism. The pebbles themselves are attached to a stainless steel grid. The ceramic work is fired to stoneware temperatures and is frost proof.
