Circular bench at St John's churchyard, Hoxton Children's Play Areas |
The beautiful green oak bench and the ring of children’s tiles make the finishing touches to the refurbished gardens at St John’s Church in Hoxton, London. Pupils from the adjacent St John's Primary School modeled wonderful terracotta floor tiles which they then painted with imagery on the theme of ‘mini beasts’ . The ring of tiles runs like a necklace around one of the oldest and most distinctive trees in the garden. The green oak bench, which was built by Tom Straker, is surrounded by lawns and flowers, it has already established itself as a favourite place to sit and day dream. |
